Top 10 Essential Oils Recipes

Essential oils are volatile aromatic compounds obtained from plants. But what are essential oil recipes? When one thinks about recipes the first thing that strikes our mind is something related to food and can be eaten. But essential oils recipes are nothing to do with eating. Essential oils recipes means combination of 2 or more essential oils, which results into something, which helps us in stress reduction, relaxation, healing and skin care. Here we are going to discuss some of the essential oil recipes.

RECIPE 1: All-purpose antiseptic cleanser recipe

Take 1 tsp of any one of the antiseptic essential oil like rosemary, rose, clove, eucalyptus, lavender etc, 1 tsp of washing soda, 2 tsp of borax, 1/2 tsp of liquid soap or detergent and 2 cups hot water.

Combine all these ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well so that the washing soda blends and dissolves. Spray this mixture onto surface and leave it for a few minutes since the antiseptic essential oils require some time to do their work. The use of these essential oils in this cleanser acts as a disinfectant and adds fragrance.

RECIPE 2: Scalp Treatment Recipe

Take 5 drops of any 3 essential oils like Lavender, Rose, Sandalwood, Tea Tree etc, 2 tbsp of any one of the base oil like Sweet almond, Avocado, Jojoba etc.

Mix all these ingredients and warm it up. Massage this oil into your scalp, wrap your head in a warm towel and leave on for 15-30 minutes and then shampoo.

RECIPE 3: Acne and Pimple Treatment Recipe

Take 10 drops of each Lavender oil and Geranium oil, 5 drops Lemongrass oil or Tea Tree oil and 50g of Aloe Vera Gel.Mix all these ingredients well and apply to affected areas once or twice daily.

RECIPE 4: Facial Treatment Recipe

Take 1 tbsp of green tea, 1/4 ripe papaya, 1/4 cup of fresh-diced pineapple and 1tbsp of honey.

Steep green tea in boiling water and set aside to cool. Peel off papaya wedge and remove seeds. Blend papaya and pineapple until they are pureed. Pour this mixture into a glass bowl and add honey and green tea to it. Mix well. Apply this mixture to face with fingertips. Keep it for 15 minutes and then wash it off using lukewarm water. Wipe the face with soft cloth.

RECIPE 5: Feet Treatment Recipe

Take 6 drops peppermint essential oil, 2 drops of each camphor oil, eucalyptus oil and arnica oil, 4 tbsp of Aloe Vera gel, 4 tsp of grated beeswax, 2 tsp of honey and 2 tsp of fresh mint.

Rinse mint leaves and let them dry. Grind mint using and it is aside. Melt beeswax in a small boiler. In a glass bowl combine Aloe Vera and honey and mix them well. Add beeswax to the mixture and let it cool. Then add mint and oils to the mixture and stir it till it mixes completely. Apply this mixture after bath to entire feet and toes.

RECIPE 6: Body Moisturizer Recipe

Take 15 drops of each Lavender oil, Geranium oil and Petitgrain oil, 50g of Aloe Vera Cream, 25ml of Liquid Aloe Vera and 13ml of Calendula Infused oil.
Blend all these ingredients into a clean glass jar. Shake well before use, as these ingredients tend to separate when kept without disturbing.

RECIPE 7: Cracked Skin Recipe

Take 10 drops Sandalwood oil and 5 drops benzoin oil, 15 drops Calendula infused oil and 50g of Aloe Cream.

Mix all these ingredients and apply it to affected area twice daily.

RECIPE 8: Dry Skin Recipe

Take 5 drops Geranium oil, 6 drops Sandalwood oil or Rosewood oil, 15 drops Chamomile oil or Jasmine oil and 25ml of Avocado oil.

Mix all these ingredients well and gently massage into affected areas twice daily.

RECIPE 9: Normal Skin Recipe

Take 5 drops Lavender oil, 6 drops Rosewood oil, 15 drops Rose oil and 25ml of Apricot Kernel oil.

Mix all these ingredients well and gently massage into affected areas twice daily.

RECIPE 10: Sinus pressure Reliever Recipe.

Take 3 drops of peppermint essential oil, 1 tsp of raw honey.

Add 1 drop of peppermint oil to a tsp of raw honey, or add to baking soda. Put remaining 2 drops of oil in a bowl of steaming water and inhale. This helps to relieve sinus pressure and provides mental clarity.
