If you are looking for places where you can buy some essential oils, then you may have considered buying them online. However, there is a problem with this. For one, buying these oils online will prevent you from taking a closer look at the oil. Since you cannot examine them, you will risk yourself in getting some low quality oils. This is the reason why you should familiarize yourself with the online buying process. While buying oils online may be different. It is not an excuse for the vendor to provide you with low quality oils. As an aromatherapy practitioner, it is important that you always take care of your oils. Here are some of the things that you should watch out for when buying essential oils online.
Oils Online Are In Plastic Bottles
While I always advise people to only buy oils that are packaged in dark colored bottles, this is not an option when it comes to buying oils online. The problem begins when the oils are affected by the plastic. If you will remember, these oils are quite sensitive. Their composition can quickly change with a simple hint of sunlight and this is also true when they come in contact with plastic. However, this is not an option when it comes to buying oils online. Of course, your seller will want to preserve your oils and shipping them on plastic bottles will reduce the risk of breakage. With this, I highly advise that you have your own dark colored glass bottles with you. Upon receiving your order, you should immediately transfer them to your own bottles in order to preserve them.
Ask Your Vendor About Their Oils
A common problem among aromatherapy vendors is that they rarely provide good customer service. Before making a purchase, it is very important to ask them about their oils. You will instantly see people who are passionate about their product. They will discuss them in detail and they will be happy to assist you no matter what your questions are. You can test this out by using their contact form or sending them an e-mail. If they fail to reply or they simply ignore you, then that may be a red flag that you should not deal with them. After all, you want a vendor whom you can talk to in case things go wrong.
Look At The Information
Knowledgeable vendors will usually supply all the information that you will need. This includes the scientific or Latin name of the plant as well as it origin. You see, plants have different varieties. Putting these will allow the customer to distinguish plants from one another. I think that every aromatherapy vendor should do this. In fact, I find it a bit irresponsible if the seller fail to do this. After all, we are dealing with a lot of plant varieties here.
So these are just some of the things that you should keep in mind when buying these oils online. Essential oils are amazing because they have therapeutic effects on your body. However, you should also learn to take care of them. Be sure to only buy from a reputable or authentic seller and aim to preserve your essential oils so that you can use them when you want to.
