July 26, 2014 By admin Leave a Comment

The use of essential oils and  yoga is a probably the first thing you will think of as a primary tool for massaging yourself. These oils are not only fragrant but they have many medicinal properties. Just try massaging your body parts with a few drops of these essential oils for a few minutes. Massage oils reduce friction and help you to work your muscles deeply without irritating your skin.

Essential oils and  massage can help us modify emotions both in an immediate fashion and over the long run. Essential oils are really not an oil. They are essential, essential to the plant because they are the immune system or defense system of that plant. They are not really oils though, they are a liptic acid. Your body is made of lipids; they are one of the building blocks of the body. Because of this, essential oils will be recognized as part of your body and taken in to create a change.

Aromatherapy has become very popular over the past few years, serving as a means of relaxation and relief. Comprised of a blend of a variety of essential oils and massage oils, it is widely used throughout the world to help calm and rejuvenate the entire body. That is why aromatherapy and  yoga is also known as health for the body, mind, and spirit.

Essential Oils – Aromatherapy as an Expectorant

Expectorant drugs are used to treat complications related to our respiratory system which include coughs, breathing difficulties, congestion, etc. Since ancient times man has had these expectorants available from nature itself, later on the practice of using plants, fruits and herbs to improve our health was given the name of aromatherapy. A good example of natural elements used to cure breathing problems are: menthol, camphor, eucalyptus, etc. As we know these plants have natural vapors and oils necessary to relief colds and cough as well as clearing our breathing passages.

Aromatherapy for Relaxation/Insomnia

Most people are familiar with burning scents to change their mood or state of mind. Meditation is often accompanied by scented candles or incense sticks to help relax the mind and prepare it for a deeper meditation. Nowadays scent diffusers are popular for creating a scent. A diffuser can be a device that burns Essential oils or it could even be a product that plugs into the wall using electricity to heat the essential oils. Different scents create different responses but most people are looking for something that helps to calm or relax them.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for physical and psychological benefit. The main benefit aromatherapy and  massage yields is the reduction of stress and anxiety. This can be both mental and physical; the chemicals within the essential oils can be used in a number of ways to relax both the muscles and the mind. This is the case, as holistic aromatherapy combines the field of aromatherapy with other disciplines like yoga and massage. But one thing you’ve got to ensure is that you take care when blending and applying these essential oils. One of the other ways aromatherapy and  massage can help you is to relieve stress.

Ayurveda is the oldest system of natural medicine that we know. The central tenet of Ayurveda is that good health is a natural state of life — a state of balance. So health becomes disrupted when imbalances accumulate. Therefore it aims to detect early accumulation of imbalances in the system, and prevent them from developing into symptoms by using a variety of methods. In this way, Ayurveda is primarily preventive in its outlook.

Ayurveda and yoga are sister Vedic sciences that have been united for thousands of years for the sake of healing body, mind, and consciousness. Generally speaking, Ayurveda deals more with the health of the body, while yoga deals with purifying the mind and consciousness, but in reality they complement and embrace each other.
